TERMS AND CONDITIONS

These terms and conditions and use of the web-based booking/contact form constitute the entire Agreement concerning the provision of an airport transfer service, taxi service or chauffeur service (“Service”) between you and LA Chauffeurs. Completion of the booking form and use of the Service indicates your unconditional acceptance of the terms and conditions set out in this Agreement. We may revise these Terms by updating this page at any time, and without any notice, You are bound by any such revisions and should therefore from time to time visit this page to review the then current Terms.

Definitions

“LA Chauffeurs” means LA Chauffeurs whose trading address is located at 7, Skew bridge Close, Royal Wootton Bassett, SN4 7DW. Our contact details are: –

“You” and “your” means any individual, company or other business who places the booking with us.

Booking

2.1 By placing a booking through our website, phone or via email, you agree that you are legally capable of entering into binding contracts and you are at least over 18 years old.

2.2 You must allow sufficient time when booking your taxi to allow for the check-in times required by your airline and for any delays caused by traffic conditions. LA Chauffeurs are happy to advise on travel time but shall not be responsible for any delay caused by your failure to allow enough time to reach your destination or if the passengers are not ready for collection at the booked time.

2.3 You must order a suitable car size for the number of passengers and luggage. LA Chauffeurs cannot guarantee to carry excessive amounts of luggage. Please note that a child, no matter what age, counts as one passenger.

2.4 If you need to transport a wheelchair, please specify this at the time of booking.

2.5 Bookings and payment can only be made via e-mail. PLEASE DO NOT SEND CREDIT OR DEBIT CARD DETAILS VIA E-MAIL OR VIA THE CONTACT US FORMS LOCATED ON THE WEBSITE AS WE CANNOT BE HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR THE SECURITY OF SUCH INFORMATION. As part of our booking process, you will be given the opportunity to check your booking and to correct any errors. We will send you a booking acknowledgement detailing the services you have ordered along with times, dates, cost, and any additional arrangements that may have been agreed i.e., assisted check-in, wheelchair requirements.

2.6 Our acceptance of a booking takes place when send you confirmation of your booking via email or phone call. When we confirm your booking, the purchase contract will be made even if your payment has not been processed immediately, unless we have notified you that we do not accept your booking, or you have cancelled your booking.

2.7 We may decline a booking:

(a) where a car or driver is not available for the dates required.

(b) where we cannot obtain adequate or satisfactory authorisation for your payment.

(c) if there has been a pricing error

2.7 Bookings will only be confirmed once the following information has been provided:

Full Pick-up/Drop off address including postcode
Phone number and email address of lead passenger
Airport, terminal, and flight number
Check in or arrival time
How many passengers
How many suitcases
Prices & Payment
3.1 LA Chauffeurs will email you a quotation based on the information supplied by you. Receipts are available upon request for the purposes of reclaiming expenses.

3.2 LA Chauffeurs may amend the quotation if there is any material change to the original itinerary, the number of passengers or the type or size of vehicle required.

3.3 The quotation will include a 60-minute waiting period after the advertised landing time and the cost of car parking. LA Chauffeurs will charge for waiting at its standard rates of £30 per hour or part thereof after the first 60-minute period has expired. LA Chauffeurs will endeavour to check for flight delays to minimise waiting charges before the driver leaves for the airport but shall be under no obligation to do so.

3.4 Any tolls and congestion charges are not included in the quoted price. (Except for pick-up from London City Airport.)

3.5 If you accept the quotation, you will receive confirmation of your booking by email. Please check your booking confirmation carefully and inform LA Chauffeurs promptly of any errors. LA Chauffeurs shall not be responsible for any delays caused or costs arising from by your failure to provide LA Chauffeurs with correct information.

3.6 Payment can be made by credit card, debit card, or PayPal via a secure online payment system. This is required 48 hours before the booking. Customers are also able to request to pay cash or secure card payment direct to the driver in the vehicle.

The Service

4.1 The lead passenger shall be responsible for the behaviour of all the passengers in the car during the journey. You will be charged £100 to cover cleaning costs in the unlikely event of the vehicle being soiled by any passenger.

4.2 Eating, drinking and/or smoking in the cars is not permitted.

4.3 All children travelling during the journey should be restrained in a manner appropriate to their age, weight, and height. Suitable child seats should wherever possible be supplied and fitted by the child’s parents. Such seats may be retained by the driver for use on the return journey.

4.4 LA Chauffeurs will not carry more passengers than its insurance or licensing allows.

Cancellations and Refunds
5.1 If you wish to cancel your booking:

(a) you must notify us by email to bookings@lachauffeurs.co.uk

If we are notified within 24 hours of the pick-up time, you will receive a full refund.
If notified between 24 and 12 hours of the pick-up time, a cancellation fee of 30% of the journey price will apply.
If notified between 12 and 3 hours of the pick-up time, a cancellation fee of 50% of the journey price will apply.
If notified less than 3 hours before the pick-up time, a cancellation fee of 100% of the journey price will apply.
(b) where the driver has already departed to meet you, or your journey has already begun, we reserve the right to charge the full fare.

(c) When a booking has been paid for and cancelled with more than 24 hours’ notice, then a full refund – minus the card charges – shall be applied.

(d) For all cancelled bookings, an additional administration fee may apply, however, this is at the discretion of LA Chauffeurs Ltd.

5.2 Full refunds will only be processed if an error has been made by LA Chauffeurs resulting in alternative travel arrangements having to be made resulting in the services of LA Chauffeurs no longer being required. LA Chauffeurs will only refund the original cost paid and are not liable for any additional charges made by providers of any alternative travel arrangements. Pre-paid bookings (Bookings in advance with cards) will be refunded within 5 working days from the moment of cancellation.

5.3 All claims for refunds should be made within 30 days of the original booking date.

Liability

6.1 LA Chauffeurs shall use all reasonable endeavours to get you to your destination on time but shall not be liable for any loss due to delays caused by road or traffic conditions beyond its control on the journey. Under no circumstances shall LA Chauffeurs be liable (in contract, tort or otherwise) for any loss of profits, business or for any indirect or consequential loss.

6.2 All luggage is carried entirely at your risk.

6.3 LA Chauffeurs shall be entitled to cancel all services and provide refunds in the event of a declared national emergency, riot, war, fuel shortage, extreme weather or terrorist attack, or other circumstances beyond its control. If the car breaks down during your journey LA Chauffeurs will endeavour to arrange an alternative car to complete the journey as soon as practicable.

6.4 You shall indemnify LA Chauffeurs against all losses, costs, damages, and expenses arising from any act or omission of any passenger in your party.

6.5 Neither party excludes or limits its liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for wilful default or fraudulent misrepresentation, or otherwise in any manner unenforceable by any applicable law.

Termination

LA Chauffeurs will refuse or terminate any booking with immediate effect if it places any driver or vehicle at risk of damage, violence, or abuse by you or by any passenger in your party and will ask all passengers to vacate the vehicle as soon as it is safe to do so. No refunds will be given if the journey is terminated part way through the hire.

Miscellaneous

8.1 LA Chauffeurs may subcontract its obligations under this Agreement. You shall not assign, transfer, or delegate any of your rights or obligations under this Agreement.

8.2 LA Chauffeurs may change these terms and conditions at any time by posting changes online. Please review these terms and conditions regularly to ensure that you are aware of any changes. All existing bookings will be at the rate quoted or applicable rate in effect at the time of booking.

8.3 LA Chauffeurs shall store, process, and use all information regarding your personal details in accordance with the requirements of the Data Protection Act 1998.

8.4 This Agreement and any accompanying quotation represents the entire agreement between you and LA Chauffeurs in relation to its subject matter. If there is any discrepancy between the terms of this Agreement and the quotation, the terms of this Agreement shall prevail.

8.5 Nothing in this Agreement is intended to confer any benefit on any third party, whether pursuant to the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act 1999 or otherwise, and no third party shall have the right to enforce any rights under this Agreement except where otherwise agreed in writing.

Disputes

This Agreement shall be construed in accordance with English law and you and LA Chauffeurs each agree to submit to the exclusive authority of the English Courts in respect of any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with this Agreement.

Conveying of children

UK law states that taxis are exempt from legislation relating to children travelling in a baby/child seat or booster, more details of the legislation can be found here. For Health and Safety reasons LA Chauffeurs are unable to supply any form of child seat. However, if you are booking a return journey and have your own child seat, the driver who carries out your booking will store your child seat for the return journey, please note that the installation of the child seat must be carried out by you.

LA Chauffeurs, their drivers and vehicles are licenced to operate by Wiltshire Council. All drivers are fully licenced and enhanced DBS checked. LA Chauffeurs abide by the Wiltshire Council Private Hire Guidelines. Private Hire Operators Licence: PHOP2194
